Isnacanada is seeking a highly skilled Camping Experience Lead to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for creating engaging and safe experiences for our campers.

Job Overview

This is a full-time contract position that will run from December 23rd to January 3rd, 2025. You will be working at our Mississauga location, specifically at 2200 South Sheridan Way.

Responsibilities
  1. Create daily camp activities such as games, art projects, team-building exercises, special events, and educational exhibitions.
  2. Ensure programming is adapted to meet the needs of our campers in terms of quality, safety, hygiene, weather, and breaks.
  3. Deliver activity plans as written and approved by the Camp Administrators and Program Coordinator.
  4. Prioritize the well-being, safety, and protection of our campers at all times, evaluating situations for potential risks and taking mitigating actions when necessary.
  5. Maintain confidence and ability to make decisions in the best interests of the campers, resolving problems and conflicts effectively as they arise.
  6. Organize and assist with setup and cleanup of camp events, activities, and programs.
  7. Develop positive relationships with camp staff and volunteers to ensure camper needs are met.
  8. Provide regular updates and feedback to the Camp Administrator.
  9. Participate in orientation and training sessions, supporting the Camp Administrator where necessary.
  10. Attend and participate in staff meetings.
Key Qualifications
  1. Proven planning and organization skills.
  2. Good time management skills, organized, and deadline-oriented.
  3. Ability to respond to user requests with patience and enthusiasm.
  4. Able to work independently with little supervision or assistance.
  5. Ability to undertake duties within a team or independently, as needed.
  6. Related degree or diploma in youth work, or similar equivalent experience.
  7. Previous experience in camp counseling is considered an asset.
Requirements
  1. Applicants must be between the ages of 16 to 30 years (inclusive).
  2. Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, for the duration of the employment.
  3. Legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
  4. Valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
