Camping Experience Lead

Isnacanada is seeking a highly skilled Camping Experience Lead to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for creating engaging and safe experiences for our campers.
Job OverviewThis is a full-time contract position that will run from December 23rd to January 3rd, 2025. You will be working at our Mississauga location, specifically at 2200 South Sheridan Way.
Responsibilities- Create daily camp activities such as games, art projects, team-building exercises, special events, and educational exhibitions.
- Ensure programming is adapted to meet the needs of our campers in terms of quality, safety, hygiene, weather, and breaks.
- Deliver activity plans as written and approved by the Camp Administrators and Program Coordinator.
- Prioritize the well-being, safety, and protection of our campers at all times, evaluating situations for potential risks and taking mitigating actions when necessary.
- Maintain confidence and ability to make decisions in the best interests of the campers, resolving problems and conflicts effectively as they arise.
- Organize and assist with setup and cleanup of camp events, activities, and programs.
- Develop positive relationships with camp staff and volunteers to ensure camper needs are met.
- Provide regular updates and feedback to the Camp Administrator.
- Participate in orientation and training sessions, supporting the Camp Administrator where necessary.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings.
- Proven planning and organization skills.
- Good time management skills, organized, and deadline-oriented.
- Ability to respond to user requests with patience and enthusiasm.
- Able to work independently with little supervision or assistance.
- Ability to undertake duties within a team or independently, as needed.
- Related degree or diploma in youth work, or similar equivalent experience.
- Previous experience in camp counseling is considered an asset.
- Applicants must be between the ages of 16 to 30 years (inclusive).
- Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, for the duration of the employment.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
- Valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
