Job Opportunity: Full-time, On-Site Position

The First Nations Tax Commission is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to play a key role in contributing to the growth of our Education Department. The Instructional Designer will be responsible for the development of courses and programs related to the development and delivery of the First Nations Tax Commission education mandate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop learning outcomes, instructional design plans, learning activities, and assessment instruments
  • Monitor, assess, revise, and provide support to subject matter experts and faculty colleagues
  • Implement contemporary instructional design principles and develop instruction to address specific learning profiles
  • Manage multiple projects with shifting priorities and timelines
  • Write clear instructional material and provide coaching and training
  • Evaluate and make recommendations regarding instructional design in various modalities
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years demonstrated experience in curriculum design and development
  • Developing instructional design plans and guiding the development of learning outcomes, course outlines, learning activities, and assessment instruments
  • Minimum of 3 years' teaching experience, post-secondary with adult learners preferred
  • Knowledge of current theories and practices in online, distance, and open education
  • Demonstrated experience leading project teams effectively
  • Superior time management skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects
  • Demonstrated ability to write and edit effectively, using plain language
