Job Title: Internal Counsel

Vista Credit Corp is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Internal Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our executive team, you will play a critical role in shaping the company's legal framework and ensuring compliance with various laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the company's legal framework, ensuring alignment with business objectives and risk management.
  • Provide timely legal updates to the Board of Directors, identifying key business risks and supporting the assembly of meaningful packages and information.
  • Own the development of standard legal documentation, reviewing and updating as necessary to support business growth and pursuits in new markets.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with customers, suppliers, and other third parties, including rental contracts, leases, NDAs, and M&A documents.
  • Support the company in transaction-related activity, including acquisition of portfolio accounts, new business lines, and larger-scale acquisition activity.
Requirements:
  • JD/LLB degree and membership in good standing with the Ontario Law Society.
  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience, with a strong background in corporate law and contract negotiation.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, with a proven ability to analyze complex issues and devise effective recommendations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Dynamic and entrepreneurial spirit, with a passion for growth and a willingness to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
