Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Production Supervisor to lead our team at SDM TRANSPORT LTD. As a key member of our operations department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment, managing staff, and resolving work-related problems.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity with a competitive salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 per annum, depending on experience.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a supervisory role and a strong understanding of production processes. You will be required to train workers in duties and policies, prepare and submit reports, ensure the efficient use of equipment, and coordinate activities with other departments.

You will also be responsible for coordinating and reviewing work, requisitioning materials and supplies, arranging maintenance and repair work, and providing technical advice to improve productivity and product quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Train and mentor staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to management, highlighting any issues or concerns that may impact production.
  • Ensure the efficient use of equipment and resources, minimizing downtime and optimizing production capacity.
  • Coordinate and review work assignments, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Requisition and manage materials and supplies, ensuring they are available when needed.
  • Arrange for maintenance and repair work to be carried out, minimizing disruptions to production.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to staff, helping them to resolve problems and improve productivity.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a supervisory role.
  • A strong understanding of production processes and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and motivate staff.
  • A problem-solving approach, with the ability to analyze issues and develop effective solutions.
  • A strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
