Healthcare Planner Job Description

B+H Architects is seeking a skilled Healthcare Planner to join our team in Toronto, Vancouver, or Calgary. As a Healthcare Planner, you will work collaboratively with our Healthcare Architecture and Interior Design team to deliver large-scale Healthcare projects in Canada.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in managing the deliverables for the medical planning team within the project schedule.
  • Lead the medical planning process to create department floor plan concepts reflective of operations.
  • Provide expertise on institutional, ambulatory, and business occupancy environments.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients on planning issues.
  • Work with end users to outline process flows and critical adjacencies of clinical rooms.
  • Understand and guide discussions on medical equipment needs.
  • Coordinate all disciplines related to building design and health planning.
  • Engage in problem-solving, teamwork, critical thinking, mathematical reasoning, and visualization to create accurate drawings.
  • Prepare health planning presentation drawings, diagrams, and narratives.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Architecture.
  • Registered Architect preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience in Healthcare planning.
  • Clear understanding of institutional, ambulatory, and business occupancy environments.
  • Understanding of applicable codes & building construction systems, materials, and standards.
  • Understanding of healthcare trends.
  • Strong presentation, communication, organizational, collaboration, and leadership skills.
