Intermediate Healthcare Planner

B+H Architects is seeking a skilled Intermediate Healthcare Planner to join our Toronto Studio. As a key member of our Healthcare Architecture and Interior Design team, you will play a crucial role in delivering large-scale Healthcare projects across Canada.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in managing medical planning deliverables within project schedules
  • Lead medical planning processes to create department floor plan concepts
  • Provide expertise on institutional, ambulatory, and business occupancy environments
  • Serve as primary point of contact for clients on planning issues
  • Work with end-users to outline process flows and critical adjacencies of clinical rooms
  • Understand and guide discussions on medical equipment needs
  • Coordinate all disciplines related to building design and health planning
  • Engage in problem-solving, teamwork, critical thinking, and visualization to create accurate drawings
  • Prepare health planning presentation drawings, diagrams, and narratives
  • Provide planning, design, and coordination support on projects and pursuits
  • Engage in mentoring junior team members in health planning practices
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Architecture
  • Registered Architect preferred
  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience in Healthcare planning required
  • Clear understanding of institutional, ambulatory, and business occupancy environments
  • Clear understanding of applicable codes and building construction systems
  • Understanding of healthcare trends
  • Strong presentation, communication, organizational, collaboration, and leadership skills
  • Strong computer skills (REVIT, MS Office Suite, Blue Beam)
