Project Controls Specialist
As a Project Controls Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the Terminals and Energy Transition programs to deliver analytical services in partnership with project management. Your primary goal will be to ensure that proper cost structures, procedures, and controls are in place for each project. In this role, you will have the opportunity to support large projects or work independently on smaller projects, depending on your strengths and the program's needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accumulate and compile accurate cost management data on a monthly basis to prepare project reports and update progress.
- Aid in the development of cost control/scheduling procedures, execution plans, and business plans for projects.
- Provide accurate monthly forecasts for all projects, identifying trends and making recommendations for corrective action.
- Participate in weekly project cost reviews/schedule meetings.
- Engage in project kickoffs and ongoing status meetings.
- Engage with key vendors during monthly reviews.
- Collaborate with Project Management to develop and implement a change management system for engineering and construction.
- Maintain project cost/schedule programs and provide updates as required.
- Provide meaningful historical data and documentation.
- Aid in the development of progress tracking and implementation.
Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of project delivery phases, activities, and associated deliverables, consistent with the FEL process.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including collaboration with other teams.
- Strong work ethic, producing accurate and credible deliverables, meeting deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both verbally and written, including presentations.
- Strong analytical skills and aptitude for engineering and construction.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or a relevant Engineering discipline.
- 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent business-related work experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft products.
- Software experience in Oracle, IBM Cognos analytics, or TM1 is an asset.
- Software experience in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project is an asset.
