Procurement Manager

At Pomerleau, we are seeking a skilled Procurement Manager to join our Building Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing project supplier and contractor relationships, as well as key accounts, to optimize financial and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage project supplier and contractor relationships and accounts with assigned key/strategic suppliers to optimize financial and operational performance.
- Identify potential subtrades and suppliers, evaluate proposals, and negotiate contracts with vendors, ensuring best value for money.
- Prepare tender documents for procurement of subcontractors/suppliers, including terms and conditions of contract, construction methodologies, and schedule, pricing requirements with other project team members.
- Develop and maintain procurement records, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier performance metrics.
- Monitor supplier performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective action plans as necessary.
- Negotiate prices and conditions with subcontractors and vendors.
- Work closely with project managers and stakeholders to understand their procurement requirements and develop procurement plans accordingly.
- Develop and prepare reports for managing staff to give an update of the procurement process.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in procurement or quantity surveying, preferably in ICI construction.
- MUST be able to obtain a Government of Canada Secret level clearance as per project contractual requirements.
- Experience, familiarity, and existing relationship with major local suppliers across Canada would be an asset.
- Practical experience of procurement processes, methods, practices, contract administration, and accounting and scheduling principles.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, including sourcing, contracting, negotiation, and supplier management.
- Availability to travel to monitor supplier's performance, production, and schedules as needed.
Additional Assets:
- Fluently bilingual in both official languages, (French and English).
