Altis Technology is currently seeking a highly skilled CKAN Developer to lead the migration of our Federal Government client's current Open Data Portal from the current CKAN framework to the most up-to-date stable version. This is a short-term contract opportunity, and we are looking for an experienced professional who can bring their expertise in migrating complex systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Migrate the CKAN Framework to the latest stable version
- Collaborate with the Technical Authority to determine the new CKAN version and ensure a seamless upgrade process
- Upgrade the Open Data Portal to the latest version of the Government of Canada web theme (WET: v4.0.77, GCWeb: v14.7.0)
- Implement Bulk Metadata Editing to enable administrators to update multiple datasets at once
- Develop a feature that recommends datasets to site users, similar to the feature on the GC Open Data Portal
Qualifications and Skills:
- 2+ years of experience in coding languages relevant to CKAN (Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and experience working with CKAN
- Strong understanding of system migration, upgrade processes, and technical requirements
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
