Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Financial Aid Officer to join our team at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. As a Financial Aid Officer, you will provide comprehensive support services and assistance to students seeking financial aid and awards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist students with front-line inquiries related to need-based and merit-based student financial assistance, including student loans, grants, scholarships, bursaries, and other awards.
  • Provide general information on financial aid and award programs, guidelines, eligibility, and application processes.
  • Distribute applications and assist students with form completion related to various programs.
  • Review student applications for completeness, accuracy, and missing information, and finalize submissions to external financial aid issuing bodies.
  • Carry out the processing of part-time assistance applications by checking forms for completeness, accuracy, and required documents.
  • Enter missing student information, identify and correct data entry errors, and finalize pending student applications on governmental student loan portals and financial aid databases.
Qualifications
  • Grade 12 plus completion of a 2-year post-secondary diploma in office administration and/or business administration.
  • Two years general experience plus one year related experience working with student financial assistance programs or customer service experience in a fast-paced complex setting.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary of $62,000 - $72,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a minimum of fifteen days of vacation, extended health and dental plan, pension plan, flexible hybrid work arrangements, professional development funds, and access to BCIT courses free of charge.
