The Burnaby School District is a dynamic organization that serves over 26,000 students in Kindergarten through Grade 12. We are the fourth largest school district in BC and operate 41 elementary and 8 secondary schools.
Our District employs more than 4,500 dedicated employees who are committed to providing innovative programs to ensure student achievement in areas such as academics, athletics, trades training, visual and performing arts, social responsibility, and leadership.
We are seeking an experienced Treasurer Financial Officer to join our Business Services Team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, with experience in leading financial teams and managing budgets.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the Finance department, including district and school accounting, payroll, purchasing, financial control and audit, budget monitoring and analysis, and financial reporting
- Support and advise the Secretary-Treasurer on fiscal, facilities, and other business matters
- Oversee the development of operating budgets for the school district
- Involved in strategic planning and policy development, including long-term facilities planning, education technology planning, and fiscal management
