COWI is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to join our team of experts in bridge design and project management. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing bridge design projects, liaising directly with clients, pursuing business development opportunities, and leading the growth and mentorship of our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects with design partners and clients, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Participate in business development opportunities, including writing proposals and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Direct and mentor teams of engineers and technicians, providing guidance and oversight on project deliverables.
  • Liaise with other professionals, clients, and third parties as needed, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Perform forecasting, resource allocation, scheduling, and budgeting for assigned project(s), ensuring optimal project outcomes.
  • Prepare construction drawings, engineering reports, memoranda, and other documents, such as technical specifications.
  • Oversee construction administration activities, including site inspections and other tasks as required.
  • Develop team members in project settings by actively mentoring and guiding them, identifying development opportunities within projects, setting clear goals, and providing pathways for career growth and skill enhancement.

Requirements:

  • A Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • A Professional Engineer License (P.Eng.) in Alberta, or can obtain within 6 months.
  • A minimum of 10 years of related experience in Bridge Design and Project Management, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience in leading bridge projects with Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors, the City of Edmonton, and the City of Calgary.
  • Demonstrated experience in Project Management and as a technical leader with a proven ability to prepare proposals and review agreement terms.
  • Efficient written and verbal communication skills combined with great interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
