Mental Health Clinician Assertive Community Treatment Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Clinician to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team at Island Health. The successful candidate will possess a Master's degree in a health-related discipline and have a minimum of three years of experience working with adults and youth with mental health and substance use issues.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of alcohol and drug addiction issues, substance use assessments, treatment methodologies, intervention strategies, and community dynamics. They will also have knowledge of applicable legislation, such as the Mental Health Act and the Guardianship Act.
Key Responsibilities- Provide assertive community treatment to individuals with mental health and substance use issues.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the ACT team.
- Conduct assessments and provide counseling services to clients.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Provide education and support to clients and their families.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of treatment plans.
- Master's degree in a health-related discipline.
- Three years of experience working with adults and youth with mental health and substance use issues.
- Valid BC Driver's License.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong knowledge of adult education skills and community dynamics.
