Mental Health Clinician Assertive Community Treatment Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Clinician to join our Assertive Community Treatment team at Island Health. The successful candidate will possess a Master's degree in a health-related discipline and have a minimum of three years of experience in a related field.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of alcohol and drug addiction issues, substance use assessments, treatment methodologies, intervention strategies, and community dynamics. They will also have knowledge of applicable legislation, such as the Mental Health Act and the Guardianship Act.
Key Responsibilities- Provide assertive community treatment to adults and youth with mental health and substance use issues.
- Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and community partners.
- Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide individual and group therapy.
- Monitor client progress, make adjustments to treatment plans as needed, and provide crisis intervention when required.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Master's degree in a health-related discipline.
- Three years of experience in a related field.
- Valid BC Driver's License.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with diverse populations and provide culturally sensitive care.
