Maintenance Assistant Float

About the Role
The Maintenance Assistant Float is responsible for performing day-to-day maintenance activities to support the efficient operation of the community. This includes ensuring the safety and security of all persons served, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and maintain equipment, diagnose malfunctions, and recommend replacements or upgrades.
- Schedule and supervise service work in the absence of the Maintenance Manager.
- Complete general repairs to electrical, plumbing, and other building components.
- Implement snow removal and de-icing programs, support pest control, and maintain organized and safe work areas.
- Assist in fire safety drills and comply with fire regulations.
- Maintain a log entry of daily routines, general repairs, scheduled, and non-scheduled maintenance items.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 1-year work experience related to building or community maintenance.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
- Basic computer knowledge – Microsoft Office and various maintenance software.
- Ability to prioritize and organize schedule of maintenance and workload planning.
- Ability to communicate professionally with residents, staff, visitors, and contractors.
