About this role

PARC Retirement Living is seeking a skilled Building Services Manager to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of our Oceana PARC community in White Rock. As a respected facility manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our building systems, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform and log building maintenance tasks, including cleaning, painting, and snow removal.
  • Triage maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner using our in-house software system.
  • Respond to building emergencies, including floods and equipment breakdowns.
  • Manage and procure maintenance supplies and trades.
  • Conduct suite inspections and perform repair work as needed.
  • Collaborate with our team to achieve budget planning and energy optimization goals.

What you'll bring

  • 5+ years of experience in facilities management, preferably in senior living or hospitality.
  • Excellent decision-making, customer service, and participative management skills.
  • Knowledge of building equipment, electrical and mechanical systems, and kitchen equipment.
  • Facility Management or Class 5 Power Engineering certification.
  • Basic understanding of physical plant operations, maintenance, and trouble-shooting.
  • Critical thinking and priority-sensitive, with minimal supervision required.
