Job Title: Sheet Metal Worker

Manpower Services Canada Limit is seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Worker to join our team. As a Sheet Metal Worker, you will be responsible for installing, fabricating, and repairing sheet metal products in various settings.

Responsibilities:
  • Calculate heating and cooling loads and design duct systems
  • Manufacture and assemble different prefabricated fibreglass elements and water evacuation systems for buildings
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Select equipment for residential and small commercial construction
  • Measure and mark sheet metal according to template
  • Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape, or straighten sheet metal
  • Operate laser cutters and grind and buff seams, joints, and rough surfaces
  • Schedule work and develop computerized pattern and layout
  • Instruct apprentices and supervise other workers
  • Assemble, erect, and install hoisting and rigging equipment and estimate costs and materials
  • Fabricate and install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes
Credentials:
  • Aerial lift and aerial work platform Certification
  • Sheet Metal Worker Trade Certification
  • Canadian Welding Bureau Certification
  • Occupational Health and Safety Certificate
  • CPR Certificate
  • Sheet Metal Worker Red Seal Certificate
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Fall Arrest Protection Training Course
  • Forklift Operator Certification
Experience and Specialization:
  • Welding techniques: oxy-acetylene, ARC, gas metal ARC (GMAW) (MIG), resistance or spot welding, shielded metal ARC (SMAW), gas tungsten ARC (GTAW) (TIG)
  • Specialization or experience: custom sheet metal items, dust and fume collection system, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system, industrial plant piping, pre-fabricated metal buildings, sheeting and cladding, stainless steel equipment
