Job Title: Executive Chef

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead our kitchen team at T&B Chinese Cuisine Inc. o/a Xiang Zi Hot Pot. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of our Chinese dishes, including hot and cold appetizers, Chinese buns, pastries, and desserts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and lead the kitchen staff, providing direction and supervision for junior chefs, cooks, and kitchen staff.
  • Contribute to menu planning, actively participating in the preparation, presentation, and cooking of Chinese dishes for restaurant patrons and vegetarian dishes for temple.
  • Engage with clients to discuss and plan menus for our catering services and our restaurant banquets, ensuring accommodation of special dietary requests or preferences.
  • Estimate the restaurant and catering operations' food, labour, and kitchen supplies costs.
  • Train kitchen staff in the specialized cooking skills required for Chinese cuisine, demonstrating techniques and proper equipment usage.
  • Expand the existing Chengdu/Sichuan-styled hotpot offerings at the restaurant by creating new and higher quality hot/cold plates, desserts, and pastries, also developing Buddhist vegetarian meals tailored for temple goers.
Requirements:
  • At least 1-year work experience in a kitchen of a Chinese restaurant or Chinese food catering services.
  • Experience in making Chinese vegetarian cuisine and Chengdu/Sichuan cuisine, including hot and cold appetizers, Chinese buns, pastries, and desserts.
Terms:

2 years (expect April 2024 – April 2026)

Remuneration:

$28.39 per hour / 35 hours per week
