Audience Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Audience and Partnerships Development Specialist to join our team at the Museum of Contemporary Art Toronto. This dynamic role will play a pivotal part in driving attendance, fostering impactful partnerships, and raising the museum's profile.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive audience development strategy, leveraging the museum's resources and productions to their fullest potential.
- Lead the development and implementation of the Community Outreach & Partnerships Strategy, working closely with the Marketing and Operations teams.
- Establish specific goals and identify key milestones related to the project objectives, and implement evaluation processes to track progress.
- Manage the project budget, closely tracking expenses, and act as Project Manager for the ~2.25 year project, including timelines and deliverables.
- Oversee coordination of Project Team to effectively deliver project activities, including outreach, promotion, events, partnership development, networking, and audience development.
- Lead collaboration with other MOCA departments to support project implementation, and undertake or draw on existing market and stakeholder research to inform project strategies and activities.
- Provide regular updates to MOCA leadership, and reports to the Board or Funders as necessary, and manage the museum's social media strategy to enhance brand visibility, engage audiences, and drive online growth.
- 5+ years in a role that included strong audience development activities.
- Ability to effectively establish personal connections, set up meetings, plan partnerships and collaborations, and build and develop strong relationships.
- Deep networks in the tourism, public relations and/or marketing sectors in Toronto or Canada, bonus if these relationships extend to the US.
- Bachelor's degree in art, marketing, communications, business, or an adjacent subject.
- Strong strategic planning and project management skills, superb organizational skills, and ability to prioritize and work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to adapt to the changing circumstances of a project, set and track targets using specific metrics, and share evaluation data.
- Experience or interest in the visual arts or museum sector, and experience in social media management, including content planning and community management.
