Deaf / Blind Intervenor

The School District #41 (Burnaby) is seeking a skilled Deaf / Blind Intervenor to join our team. As a key member of our educational support staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of our students who are deaf or blind.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide communication support and facilitate interactions between students, teachers, and other staff members.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote inclusive education and support the academic and social needs of deaf and blind students.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to create a safe and accessible learning environment.
  • Support students in and out of the classroom, including during community activities and outings.
Requirements:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other staff members.
  • Knowledge of deaf and blind culture and communication methods.
  • Experience working with students with diverse needs and abilities.
