Are you a meticulous payroll professional with a passion for precision and compliance? We're seeking a dynamic Payroll Specialist to join our team and revolutionize our Canadian payroll operations.

About the Role

  • Analyze and prepare weekly, bi-weekly, and off-cycle Canadian payrolls for submission; update employee records to reflect benefits elections, tax, vacation, timekeeping, and other relevant adjustments. Import files from ADP system. Prepare and post employee pay statements.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable provincial and federal wage & hour laws as well as maintain current knowledge of the same.
  • Run and distribute reports weekly for pensions, union dues, donations, garnishments, vacation accruals.
  • Process Record of Employment for inactive employees. Verify first & last day worked in payroll system, create spreadsheet file of ROEs, import files to Service Canada and distribute internally to site HR.
  • Answer inquiries from Service Canada and other government authorities.
  • Prepare source deduction remittance files.
  • Prepare Monthly/Quarterly/Year-End Reporting; EHT, employer union fees, WSIB, and deduction reports and reconciliations.
  • Support ad hoc information requests and reporting as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications:

  • Education – associate degree or equivalent job experience preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience processing Canadian payroll for employee populations more than 500 employees.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • SAP experience – minimum 2 years preferred but not required.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Experience with ADP - Time and attendance, PTO module, and attendance module.
  • Quebec Payroll Experience is preferred.

Salary Range: $62,400-$93,500 CAD

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
