Job Title: Power System Electrician (PSE) Apprentice - 1st year

At Spark Power, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Power System Electrician (PSE) Apprentice to join our team. As a PSE Apprentice, you will work alongside a Journeyman and be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical power generation, transmission, and distribution systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret electrical code specifications, drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Plan and layout electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
  • Install, repair, and maintain various electrical systems and related equipment.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and ensure compliance with applicable codes.
  • Assist in quality assurance and quality control documentation.
  • Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.
  • Identify components and mount nameplates and other identification tools according to wiring diagrams.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret the Canadian Electric Code and Electrical Utility Code.
  • Good mathematical, scientific, mechanical, and logical reasoning abilities.
  • Good communication and reading skills.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Safety tickets an asset (i.e. CSTS, First Aid, H2S Alive, Fall Arrest, and Aerial Platform).
