Your Opportunity


We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Risk Advisory Services Consultant to join our team in Ottawa. The following provides an overview of the opportunity:



  • The Risk Advisory team focuses on identifying key issues facing our clients, with the goal of providing actionable insights that inform their risk management strategies.
  • As a member of the team, you will be tasked with analyzing emerging trends in risk management, business, and governance, and develop strategies to mitigate risks and leverage opportunities for our clients.
  • Some of the challenges our team has addressed in the past year include assessing the impact of climate change on affordable housing, identifying international best practices in social innovation and finance, and reviewing a major IT transformation initiative.
  • Our work involves program evaluations, internal audits, enterprise risk management, and risk and controls assessments, among other projects.
  • We are looking for a candidate who is eager to learn and grow, and who is passionate about delivering exceptional service to our clients.

Responsibilities


Your key responsibilities will include:



  • Supporting client engagements in internal audit, enterprise risk management, internal controls design and assessment, and other areas.
  • Reviewing, documenting, and evaluating business processes and internal controls for design and operational effectiveness.
  • Developing client deliverables, including risk assessments, analyses, recommendations, and reporting documentation.
  • Collaborating with engagement teams to establish timelines and ensure high-quality client service.
  • Supporting innovation in service delivery and ensuring delivery meets the firm's quality and risk management requirements.
  • Assisting managers with business development proposals and methodology development.
  • Maintaining a proactive and logical approach to information gathering and presenting complex ideas through clear communication.
  • Applying strong project management skills, working collaboratively with team members, and using current technology and tools to enhance deliverables and services.
  • Soliciting and applying feedback from senior consultants and managers to enhance the quality and efficiency of future engagements.
  • Building positive working relationships with clients and identifying improvements for future assignments.

Your Experience and Education


We are seeking a candidate with:



  • A relevant post-secondary program or degree/diploma.
  • Completed or pursuing a professional designation (CPA, CIA, CISA, CE, etc.).
  • 0-2 years of experience in risk advisory, consulting, internal audit, or evaluation settings.
  • A strong acumen for assessing relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, and impact.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as writing and communication skills.
  • Eligibility for Government of Canada security clearance.
  • Bilingualism in French and English is considered an asset.
