Electrical and Mechanical Project Coordinator

About the Role:

Plan Group is seeking a Bilingual Project Scheduler to join our team. As a Project Scheduler for Electrical and Mechanical Construction, you will be responsible for developing and implementing schedules for construction projects to ensure timely completion according to contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, update, and maintain electrical and mechanical construction schedules.
  • Develop commissioning schedules and work breakdown structures.
  • Apply Critical Path Method (CPM) to project schedules.
  • Review critical path, cost loading, and schedule content.
  • Identify relationships, constraints, and milestones with project work schedules.
  • Perform schedule impact analysis for change orders.
  • Conduct QA/QC reviews of schedule submissions for conformance.
  • Prepare reports as needed and directed by Management.
  • Participate in site reviews and project kick-off meetings as needed.
  • Provide regular updates of schedules, highlighting issues, risks, and opportunities on the project.
  • Collaborate with Department Heads to define recovery plans for identified issues.
  • Support Project Managers with customer reports, presentations, and meetings related to scheduling and delivery performance.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Electrical Technology or related field, or Journeyman License in Electrical, Plumbing, or Sheetmetal.
  • Must be bilingual: English and French.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a Construction Scheduler.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of Primavera P6.
  • Experience in using MS Project, CPM Primavera, and Construction Cost Scheduling.
  • Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems.
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary.
  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
