About the Role

Colas Western Canada Inc. is seeking an experienced Groundperson to join our team at our Crescent Valley, BC location. As an Asphalt Plant Groundperson, you will play a critical role in the safe and efficient operation of our asphalt plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Unload hot oil from delivery trucks and perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
  • Operate front-end loader, skid steer, or other heavy equipment as required.
  • Inspect and grease asphalt conveyors to ensure proper functioning.
  • Shovel asphalt and other plant materials as needed.
  • Assist with stockpiling materials and feeding the plant from stockpiles in an efficient and productive manner.
  • Perform set up and take down of plants at different job sites as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in the road construction industry.
  • 1-2 years as an Asphalt Plant Labourer, preferred.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and clean current driver's abstract.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanics and equipment repair.
  • Knowledge of welding equipment, tools, and methods.
