Job Title: Addiction Nurse

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Addiction Nurse to join our team at the Vancouver Detox Centre. As an Addiction Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to clients struggling with substance use disorders.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with a passion for addiction care to join our interdisciplinary team. The successful candidate will provide screening and assessment, direct nursing care, education, and counseling to clients presenting with substance use disorders.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to clients with substance use disorders
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to achieve excellence in client-centered care
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to support clients in their recovery journey
  • Provide education and counseling to clients and their families on addiction and recovery
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of addiction services
Qualifications:
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives
  • Valid BC Driver's License may be required for local area travel
  • Broad knowledge of nursing theory and practice within a client/family-centered model of care
  • Broad knowledge of chemical dependency and a positive attitude toward chemically dependent clients and their rehabilitation
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
