Job Title: Advanced Practice Clinical Leader

Job Summary:

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking a full-time, permanent Advanced Practice Clinical Leader in CYEAP. This role reports to the Clinical Director Child CYEAP, Professional Practice Office, and is part of a team of Advanced Practice Clinical Leaders (APCLs) that support various patient populations in CAMH's Child, Youth and Emerging Adult Program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support inpatient/outpatient point-of-care teams in aligning with CAMH and Professional Practice strategic initiatives.
  • Provide team-based clinical supervision and advance clinical care for specialized populations, such as child and youth addictions and early psychosis.
  • Implement and evaluate best practices in the assessment, care planning, and discharge planning of children and youth with severe mental health challenges, substance use, and trauma histories.
  • Provide consultation services to interprofessional teams in other clinical programs across the organization on an as-needed basis.
  • Support family engagement initiatives, quality improvement initiatives, and patient and staff safety strategies.
  • Precept graduate students, engage in evaluation and research, and participate in interprofessional academic opportunities.
  • Participate in program planning and evaluation, develop and maintain integrated care pathways to enhance patient population outcomes, and participate on internal and external committees.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and subject matter expert in program-level and organizational-level strategic planning activities.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a Health Sciences discipline and membership in good standing with the respective regulatory College.
  • Nursing preferred.
  • Eligibility for cross-appointment with the University of Toronto.
  • Five years of clinical experience involving clients with mental health and addiction, with professional development provided for candidates willing to learn new skills.
