We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Summer Camp Director to join our team at the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario. As a key member of our childcare team, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning and implementation of our summer camp program.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively with children, staff, and parents. They will also have a proven track record of developing and implementing engaging and inclusive programs that meet the needs of diverse groups of children.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires a commitment of approximately 37 hours per week during the summer months. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive summer camp program that meets the needs of children aged 4-12 years;
  • Supervising a team of staff members who will assist with the delivery of the program;
  • Collaborating with other departments within the organization to ensure seamless integration of services and programs;
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards related to child care and youth development;
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess the following qualifications:

  • A diploma or degree in early childhood education or a related field;
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a supervisory role within a childcare environment;
  • Registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) and good standing status;
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification;
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Check clearance;
  • Able to lift up to 20 kg (44 lbs.) and perform frequent light to medium physical effort;
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package and pension plan. Additionally, successful candidates will receive:
