- Maintain a High-Quality Codebase: Write and review performant, scalable, and well-tested code to deploy using source control products such as GitLab/GitHub.
- Design and Configure Job Scheduling Tools: Design and configure job scheduling tools like Airflow and GitLab to improve processes.
- Maintain Data Engineering and Architecture Standards: Maintain data engineering and architecture standards within the team and the wider organization, promoting a culture of innovation and prototyping.
- Adapt Code and Pipelines: Adapt code and pipelines to accommodate new data sources and requirements, maintaining Agile and adaptable engineering practices.
- Improve Existing Pipelines: Improve existing pipelines and maintain all domain-related data pipelines for efficiency and reliability.
- Identify and Implement Process Improvements: Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements in collaboration with data architects, including automating manual processes and optimizing data delivery.
- Create Technical Documentation: Create technical documentation, such as data dictionaries, data flow diagrams, and engineering documentation.
- Education: BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 8+ years of data engineering experience.
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in ETL orchestration and workflow management tools, columnar databases (Snowflake, GCP), programming languages (Python & SQL), DBT, Spark, and Airflow.
- Skills: Data modeling, warehousing, building ETL/ELT/EtLT pipelines, data mesh, and data lake house designs.
- Communication: Experience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and other partners, ability to simplify and summarize complex constructs.
