About Our Client:
Our client is an independent insurance brokerage that specializes in business insurance across British Columbia and Western Canada.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced IT director to support our IT team in overseeing, implementing, and providing direction for all company technology associated with IT services, applications, data communications, telecoms, and computing services.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Ensure optimal performance for all computing and network systems and resolve escalated issues as required.
- Cybersecurity: Manage cybersecurity and conduct risk assessments to mitigate potential threats.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to privacy and technology regulations in all points of operation.
- Budget Management: Monitor and authorize budget and expenditures for IT-related activities.
- Inventory Management: Control IT equipment inventory and recommend new products where appropriate.
- Standards and Best Practices: Develop and monitor IT standards and best practices to ensure efficient operations.
- Project Management: Lead IT projects and supervise the planning, coordination, and implementation of hardware & software services.
- Performance Management: Evaluate performance management for the IT team and monitor daily operations.
- Urgent Operations: Handle and delegate urgent IT-related operations in the absence of the IT manager.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science or IT.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Superior organizational, leadership, and time-management skills.
- 5+ years' experience in a senior IT management level position, including networking, windows server, IT, MS operating systems, and developing IT strategies and solutions for an organization.
- Must be able to work fully on-site in Vancouver and occasionally travel to other offices in the lower mainland as required.
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
