Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare the annual budget and meet with the President biweekly to review cash flow projections.
  • Meet with all Project Managers on a monthly basis to review financial performance and cash flow projections of projects.
  • Meet with the President, VP of Operations, and individual PMs quarterly to review prepared project reports for the profit-sharing program.
  • Establish key performance indicators for all departments.
  • Maintain relationships with banking and insurance partners.
  • Support the Payroll Administrator and Payroll Manager (Assistant Controller) as needed.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to the finance team.
  • Manage all accounting software.
  • Complete special projects and analysis for new business opportunities.
  • Oversee the annual audit process and work with external auditors.
  • Ongoing review and monitoring of internal controls.
  • Assist with deadlines, compliance, and action plans as needed.
  • Participate in department and company projects.

Weekly Meetings

  • Meet weekly with all PMs and the Assistant Controller to review outstanding CCNs and project billing and expenses versus budget.
  • Report to the President and VP of Operations weekly at Board meetings with updates on projects.
  • Review monthly billing with the AR Manager.
  • Attend weekly collection meetings with the AR Manager and AR Coordinator.
  • Participate in weekly payment/disbursement meetings with the AP Manager and President.
  • Review weekly cash flow projections with the Assistant Controller.
  • Analyze project tenders valued at over $500,000 with the Chief Estimator and VP of Operations.
    Special Projects

    • Review the purchase-to-pay process with the APM, VP of Operations, AP Manager, and Finance Assistant. Establish bi-weekly meetings.
    • Negotiate banking and credit facility agreements.
    • Support DBK with contract and other initiatives.

    Requirements

This role requires:



  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
  • Fluency in French is an asset.
