Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Wood Construction Specialist to join our team at Ontario Inc.

About the Role:

  • This is a permanent full-time position, requiring a minimum of 35 hours per week.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in wood construction and possess excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare layouts and plans in accordance with building codes, using precise measuring tools.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join various materials, including wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
  • Construct foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Fabricate and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
  • Schedule and coordinate work on-site, ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Supervise and direct other workers, promoting a safe and productive work environment.
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residential and commercial structures, including wooden buildings in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of building codes, safety protocols, and industry standards.
