Maintenance Engineering Technical Coordinator

As a key member of the Maintenance Engineering Group at 09 Irving Oil Limited, you will play a vital role in providing technical support to the team. Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with the Maintenance Engineering Group Lead to ensure the smooth operation of the refinery's maintenance and technical activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentor junior engineers to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Support the Maintenance Engineering Group Lead in various tasks and projects.
  • Review and approve Engineering Work Orders (EWOs) and Maintenance of Certification (MOCs).
  • Provide technical support to the Maintenance Engineering Group, including piping flexibility analysis and ASME VIII code calculations.
  • Perform Fitness for Service Assessments in accordance with API 579.
  • Develop and provide in-house training to Maintenance Engineers.
  • Develop and update internal instructions and standards.
  • Develop Engineering Work Orders for high-priority or large-scale scopes of work.
  • Manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Participate in the refinery's on-call rotation.
  • Provide engineering leadership during annual turnarounds.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • P.Eng. designation is a requirement.
  • Experience providing engineering leadership.
  • Experience with relevant ASME codes, including Section VIII, B31.3, PCC1, and PCC2.
  • Experience with relevant API codes, including 510, 570, and 579.
