Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Reconciliation Specialist to join our team at Securian Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely reconciliation of business partner data to our system, as well as handling any exceptions that may arise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform reconciliation of various ledger accounts, including Creditor related Suspense accounts.
  • Perform procedural steps to create and calculate premium and marketing invoices.
  • Prepare and upload journal entries, as well as weekly and monthly reports for stakeholders.
  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, or fax.
  • Support the team by ensuring regular attendance, contributing ideas, and assisting in enhancing operations and customer service.
  • Monitor and clear premium billing and adjustments for all bill cycles.
  • Reconcile premiums, claims, and compensation amounts to daily premium, claims, and accounting extracts/reports and GL, ensuring premiums are interfaced to the system.
  • Research and analyze exceptions, collaborating with stakeholders for proper resolution.
  • Reconcile premium receivable and monitor/follow up settlement.
  • Support projects and other duties assigned.
Requirements
  • Completion of a bachelor's degree or equivalent, with relevant experience in the financial services, insurance industry, or related area in accounting.
  • Proficient efficiency using Microsoft Office products.
  • Proficient knowledge of insurance business and accounting cycle.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels in the organization.
  • LOMA 1 & 2 considered an asset.
  • Strong influencing and presentation skills, and ability to work in a changing, dynamic environment.
  • Self-starter, with strong analytical skills.
