As a key member of our accounting team at Interfor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the financial accuracy and integrity of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and manage contractor pay, including data entry, contract management, and bi-monthly payments.
  • Manage log sales invoicing and reconciliations, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare accruals and process payments related to stumpage and waste, maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial entries, working closely with other accounting staff to ensure seamless execution.
  • Manage marine data tracking and marine services invoicing, providing critical support to our operations team.
  • Process accounts receivable transactions, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist with internal recurring reports, ad hoc, and statutory reporting, ensuring timely and accurate financial information.
  • Provide backup support to other accounting staff as required, demonstrating a strong team player mentality.

Requirements:

  • Manufacturing or operational accounting experience, with a strong understanding of financial principles and practices.
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting or Business, with a focus on financial analysis and management.
  • Forest industry experience, with a strong understanding of log sales, stumpage, and marine data tracking.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook, with a strong ability to learn and adapt to new systems.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy, with a strong ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with a strong ability to communicate effectively with peers and other departments.
  • Ability to work independently, with a strong sense of self-motivation and a willingness to take personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work.
