Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team at Interfor. As an Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and manage contractor pay, including data entry, contract management, and bi-monthly payments.
  • Manage log sales invoicing and reconciliations, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Prepare accruals and process payments related to stumpage and waste, maintaining accurate records and compliance with regulations.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage marine data tracking and marine services invoicing, maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely processing.
  • Process accounts receivable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Assist with internal recurring reports, ad hoc reports, and statutory reporting, providing accurate and timely information.
  • Provide backup support to other accounting staff as required, ensuring seamless operations and high-quality results.

Requirements

  • Manufacturing or operational accounting experience, with a strong understanding of financial principles and practices.
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting or Business, with a strong foundation in financial accounting and reporting.
  • Forest industry experience, with a strong understanding of the industry's unique challenges and opportunities.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook, with the ability to learn and adapt to new software and systems.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to maintain high-quality records and reports.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines, with a strong sense of urgency and commitment to delivering results.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to work independently, with a strong sense of self-motivation and a willingness to take ownership of tasks and projects.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
