About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Domain Architect to join our team at Aviva. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in defining end-to-end solutions for IT change, focusing on the Guidewire Insurance suite.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create solutions and designs for Guidewire Insurance platform-based projects, ensuring they meet Aviva's standards for technology and align with our ambitions for availability, security, resilience, and performance.
  • Produce Guidewire design and migration options, including associated costs, benefits, and risks, to enable informed investment decisions.
  • Develop migration solutions to convert policies from legacy systems to Guidewire PolicyCenter.
  • Ensure the integrity of the end-to-end Guidewire solution across platforms, including transition states used to achieve the target state.
  • Shape and estimate IT initiatives and feature team sprints, ensuring component parts deliver against business outcomes.
  • Communicate sophisticated technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Record solution debt incurred during the transition phase and address it in future phases.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges associated with proposed solutions and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in post-implementation reviews and provide feedback to improve future solution designs.
  • Provide technical leadership, staying up-to-date with technological developments in the Guidewire platform and evaluating their fit within the company's architecture.
  • Evaluate Guidewire Cloud Platform features and assess their capabilities against business needs, recommending adoption where appropriate.
  • Support defining architecture best practices and standards in the Guidewire space and enforcing them in project solutions.
  • Conduct architecture reviews to ensure compliance with established guidelines.
  • Ensure design artefacts are produced to support partner groups for service, security, architecture, and engineering.
  • Peer review design artefacts and provide coaching, mentoring, and training to less experienced team members as required.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in the Guidewire Insurance suite, including Guidewire PolicyCenter, Guidewire ClaimCenter, Contact Manager, and Guidewire Edge.
  • Knowledge of Guidewire Cloud Platform capabilities and cloud migration approaches/options.
  • Experience in architecting integration solutions involving Guidewire and ecosystem applications, including document, finance, and payments exposure.
  • Experience in integration architecture design and implementation.
  • Knowledge of digital technologies, cloud computing, and modern development practices.
  • Certification in a public cloud platform (AWS or Azure).
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end project lifecycle methodologies (mainly agile).
  • Strong technical experience, with the ability to apply it across various customer and business scenarios.
  • Financial savvy to support development of cases and inform key design decisions.
  • Ability to balance long-term direction and necessary short-term goals.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to provide technical guidance to peers and project colleagues.
  • Strong personal impact and influence.
