Job Summary:

Baycrest Health Sciences is a leading provider of healthcare services, and we are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Ambulatory Medical Specialty Clinics. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive services.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide sound clinical knowledge and skills, acting as a clinical expert and resource to deliver comprehensive, quality patient care services.
  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate nursing interventions, including medications and treatments within the RN's scope of practice.
  • Work closely with medical specialty physicians to establish a plan of care for patients.
  • Ensure each specialty clinic functions smoothly as part of an inter-professional team.
  • Provide client-centred care within an interdisciplinary care team to meet the personal care, activation, recreation, and spiritual needs of clients.
Qualifications:
  • Current registration, in good standing, from the College of Nurses of Ontario ('CNO') is required.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support ('BCLS') certificate, Level C - Automated External Device ('AED') is required.
  • BScN required, Masters preferred.
  • Experience in working in a busy clinic environment.
  • Knowledge and experience working with people with memory disorders and dementia care required.
  • Highly developed clinical assessment skills of clients with complex medical, cognitive, and social needs required.
  • Knowledge of brain anatomy and physiology.
  • Psychogeriatric experience, including memory assessment and intervention in working with responsive behaviours required.
  • Demonstrated ability to take professional accountability for leading, organizing, providing, and delegating care activities for clients and families.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer skills – Meditech, Microsoft Word, and Excel preferred.
