Job Title: Construction Site Superintendent

Benchmark Building Solutions Inc is seeking a highly skilled Construction Site Superintendent to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our construction sites, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hire and Supervise Subcontractors: Manage and supervise the activities of subcontractors, ensuring they meet the required quality and safety standards.
  • Plan and Prepare Construction Schedules: Develop and implement construction schedules and milestones, monitoring progress and making adjustments as needed.
  • Prepare Contracts and Negotiate Revisions: Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements.
  • Establish Quality Control Policies: Develop and implement policies and procedures for quality control, ensuring all construction work meets the required standards.
  • Read Blueprints and Schemas: Interpret and understand blueprints, schemas, and drawings to ensure accurate construction.
  • Prepare Reports: Prepare regular reports on construction progress, highlighting any issues or concerns.
  • Direct Daily Operations: Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Work Site Environment: Outdoors.
  • Work Setting: Commercial and/or industrial construction.
  • Supervision: 5-10 people, working groups, contractors.
  • Equipment and Machinery Experience: Hand tools.
  • Construction Specialization: Industrial, commercial, and institutional.
  • Security and Safety: Reference required.
  • Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver's license, willing to travel.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, combination of sitting, standing, walking.
  • Personal Suitability: Excellent oral communication, flexibility, judgement, team player.
Experience:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years: Experience in a related field.
