Controller Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our team at CB Canada. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, and assessing accounting and internal control systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and revise deliverables of self and team to ensure they meet client expectations
  • Provide executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports
  • Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis
  • Analyze, apply, and improve policies, procedures, controls, and methodologies
  • Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
  • Lead the operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
  • Work closely with the executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation
  • Research, prepare, and execute Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required
  • Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Requirements:
  • CPA required
  • Progressive accounting experience, including as a Manager Financial Reporting or Controller
  • Strong hands-on monthly financial reporting experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Outstanding technology, analytics, and management experience required
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Vow to meet business deadlines
  • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
  • Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
  • Exemplary analytical, quantitative, and social skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
