Hotel Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hotel Manager to join our team at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Waterloo/St. Jacobs. As a Hotel Manager, you will be responsible for the overall operation of the hotel, ensuring that all aspects of the business are running smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for daily operations
  • Recruit and hire staff, including front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance personnel
  • Supervise and train staff to ensure excellent customer service and high-quality room preparation
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to staff
  • Negotiate with suppliers for the provision of materials and supplies
  • Conduct training sessions for staff on new policies and procedures
  • Negotiate with clients for the use of facilities, including meeting rooms and event spaces
  • Prepare budgets and monitor revenues and expenses to ensure profitability
  • Prepare marketing plans to attract new customers and increase revenue
  • Implement marketing activities, including social media and email marketing
  • Arrange for and oversee maintenance activities, including repairs and renovations
  • Enforce policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards
  • Address customers' complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner
  • Assist clients/guests with special needs, including accessibility and mobility requirements
  • Develop and implement business plans to increase revenue and improve efficiency
  • Establish work schedules and ensure that staff are aware of their responsibilities and deadlines
  • Organize and maintain inventory of supplies and materials
Requirements:
  • 5-10 years of experience in hotel management, including front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Computer and technology skills, including MS Office and hotel management software
  • Ability to work a 30-40 hour workweek, including evenings and weekends
