Lifeguard (Part-time) - City of Ottawa

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Lifeguard to join our team at the City of Ottawa. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for administering policies, procedures, rules, and regulations governing the conduct of patrons using the pool, as well as performing rescues and first aid necessary for the preservation of life in a team setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer policies, procedures, rules, and regulations governing the conduct of patrons using the pool
- Perform rescues and first aid necessary for the preservation of life in a team setting
- Work in a team environment to ensure the safety of pool patrons
- Respond to emergency situations in a calm and professional manner
Requirements:
- Minimum age requirement is 15 years of age
- Current National Lifeguard Pool certificate
- Current Lifesaving Instructor certificate
- Current Standard First Aid, CPR, and/or AED certificates
- Current Oxygen Therapy or LSS Airway Management certificate
- AODA Accessibility/IASR Training
Working Conditions:
The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, responding to emergency situations and working in a team environment. The candidate must be able to handle the stress of an emergency situation and work well in a team environment.
Language Requirements:
Varying language requirements may apply, depending on the location of the position. Some positions may require English only, French only, or bilingual competencies.
Police Record Check:
The successful candidate will be required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check with the Police Services detachment in their jurisdiction to the City of Ottawa's satisfaction.
