Job Opportunity: Secondary Occasional Teacher

We are seeking qualified individuals to join our Secondary Occasional Roster for the 2024/2025 school year.

The Durham District School Board (DDSB) is responsible for public education in the rural settings of Uxbridge, Brock and Scugog Townships and the urban settings of Ajax, Whitby, Pickering and Oshawa.

We employ 7,000 teaching and educational services staff, serving over 75,000 day students and thousands more who take advantage of our continuing education and adult credit courses.

As an Occasional Teacher, you will accept assignments within our board that could last one day to several days in multiple schools, ensuring learning continues in the classrooms when staff are absent.

To be considered for this position, please submit the following:

  • Ontario teaching certification and registration with the Ontario College of Teachers
  • Resume and cover letter
  • Practice Teaching Reports or recent appraisal (if available)
  • Two (2) reference letters or names and numbers (including e-mail addresses, if possible) of at least two recent professional references
