Job Summary:



The Vendor Payables Clerk role at Maritime Travel is a key position within our corporate support office, responsible for reviewing and preparing payments to travel suppliers and reconciling commission received for travel bookings. This role is part of a team that centralizes accounting functions for our 90+ independent retail locations across Canada.



Key Responsibilities:





  • Prepare reconciliations between Maritime Travel sales detail and supplier payment details.

  • Ensure vendor payments are reconciled to the travel accounting system.

  • Apply payments received from suppliers to files.

  • Prepare bank deposits.

  • Contact sales agents to verify sales booking information.

  • Investigate and follow up on outstanding commission receivables from suppliers.

  • Foster strong relationships with vendors.

  • Reconcile group travel files.


Requirements:





  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with accounting systems.

  • Effective problem-solving, analytical, and reconciliation skills.

  • Professional communication skills to interact with agents and suppliers.

  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently.

Job Details:

  • Ability to commute or relocate to Halifax, NS.

  • 3+ years of accounting experience required.
