Algoma Central Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Captain to join our team. As a Captain, you will be responsible for the safe operation of our vessels and ensuring the well-being of our crew.

Responsibilities:

* Ensure the safe navigation and operation of the vessel
* Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the vessel
* Manage the crew and ensure their safety and well-being
* Make decisions regarding safety and pollution prevention
* Comply with regulatory requirements and company policies

Qualifications:

* Master Mariner (preferred) or Master, Near Coastal
* General Operator's License (GOC)
* GLPA certificate (preferred)
* Ship Security Officer (preferred)
* MED training with respect to STCW Basic Safety
* MED training with respect to proficiency in survival craft and rescue boats other than fast rescue boats
* MED in advanced fire fighting
* Marine Medical
* Personnel with Security Duties

Skills and Experience:

* Minimum 2 years recent experience working on dry-bulk vessels
* Experience with Safety Management Systems
* Excellent leadership skills
* Knowledge of English language is required
