About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Engineer to join our team at Equinox Engineering Ltd. as a Process Engineering Lead for Heavy Oil and SAGD projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of process engineering requirements for Heavy Oil and SAGD facilities, wellsites, and above and below ground pipeline projects.
  • Conduct feasibility and conceptual design studies, perform pre-FEED, FEED, and detailed engineering design, and provide start-up and commissioning support.
  • Supervise, develop, review, and authenticate key process engineering design deliverables, including heat and material balances, design basis memoranda, process flow diagrams, and piping and instrumentation diagrams.
  • Supervise, develop, review, and authenticate key process engineering design calculations, including line sizing and utility determination, equipment determination and sizing, safety system design, and PSV sizing.
  • Lead P&ID reviews, HAZIDs, HAZOPs, LOPAs, and other critical safety reviews, and review and validation of work done by others.
  • Mentor junior and intermediate process engineering personnel and support the department manager in the development and maintenance of quality initiatives, processes and procedures, and design calculation templates.
Requirements
  • Must be a current registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA in the Province of Alberta.
  • Possess a Chemical Engineering or a similarly related Engineering degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 18 years of oil and gas experience, preferably in Canada and with an EPCM background.
  • Understanding of applicable Canadian Codes and Standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading projects.
