Family Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our team at Good Shepherd Centres. As a key member of our Family Centre, you will provide primary support to families residing in our emergency shelter, promoting their well-being and helping them achieve long-term housing success.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and support families in crisis, providing case management and crisis prevention and intervention services.
- Develop and implement individualized plans to address the unique needs of each family, including housing-based case management and supportive counseling.
- Maintain a safe and secure shelter environment, conducting hourly facility checks and ensuring the well-being of residents.
- Perform residential tasks, including unit turnovers, cleaning, and laundry, to maintain a clean and comfortable living space.
- Post-secondary education in social services or a related field.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations, including families in crisis and individuals experiencing homelessness.
- Knowledge of and experience with Harm Reduction practices and client-centered, housing-first approaches.
- Valid G license and CPR certification required.
- Fluency in a second language is an asset.
