Job Summary

Smart Start Learning Centre is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Early Childhood Educator to join our team. As an Early Childhood Educator - Program Development, you will be responsible for developing and implementing child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Design and implement child-care programs that cater to the diverse needs of children, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and train staff, trainees, or volunteers to ensure they are equipped to provide high-quality care and education.
  • Record Keeping: Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in maintaining accurate records of children's progress and development.
  • Collaboration: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers to ensure a comprehensive approach to childcare.
  • Environment Maintenance: Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
  • Activity Planning: Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours.
  • Leadership: Supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Certifications: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate.
