Job Description

The Assistant Server will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of exceptional guest service in the Library Bar. This position will be responsible for preparing serving stations and work areas for each meal period, assisting with the smooth execution of meal service during peak times, and providing continued support in preparation for the next meal period.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pre-Service Preparation: Ensure serving stations and work areas are prepared for each meal period, including setting up equipment and supplies.
  • Assist with Meal Service: Support the serving team during peak times, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Post-Service Support: Assist with cleaning and resetting serving stations and work areas after each meal period.
  • Guest Interaction: Provide exceptional guest service, responding to inquiries and requests in a pleasant and helpful manner.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the Library Bar team to achieve common goals and exceed guest expectations.
  • Adherence to Policies and Procedures: Demonstrate a complete understanding of Library Bar policies, procedures, and service standards, adhering to them at all times.
  • Continuous Improvement: Attend pre-shift, weekly, and monthly meetings to stay informed and contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Previous Experience: Previous work experience in a restaurant or food and beverage setting is required.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player attitude are essential.
  • Certifications: Smart Serve training program certification is an asset.
  • Age and Availability: Must be of age to serve alcoholic beverages and be flexible with shifts dependent on business demands.
  • Additional Qualifications: OTEC certificate and willingness to learn new concepts and ideas are desirable.
