About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Hoist and Elevator Operator to join our team at True North Labour Inc. as a Construction Site Specialist. This is a critical role that requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate stationary and mobile cranes, lifts, hoists, and winches to lift, move, and place materials, equipment, and personnel on construction sites.
- Conduct regular inspections of the work site to identify potential hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
- Monitor the condition of the ground and surrounding areas to prevent accidents and ensure the stability of the crane.
- Collaborate with other operators to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as lubricating ropes and winches, and replacing worn cables.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Hold a valid Personnel Hoist and Construction Elevator Operator (PHCEO) or Car Switch and Construction Use Elevator Operator (CSOCEO) certificate.
- Have intermediate knowledge of math and be able to perform calculations accurately.
- Be physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess a basic tool belt and personal protective equipment (PPE), including a hard hat, high-visibility vest, and steel-toe boots.
- Be safety-conscious and committed to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada.
